I bumped into Rob Humphries this morning while walking Darcy on the beach. Rob looked well and asked me to pass on his very best wishes to everyone at the club for the season ahead.
I couldn’t quite persuade him to make a comeback, unfortunately he’s currently having some problems with his eyes.
For those who don’t know Rob, he was already a member when I joined the club , he went on to become Club Secretary before Jeff took over. He has always been a fantastic supporter of the club, particularly with our Darkness into Light charity events.
Rob was also a terrific goalkeeper, and those of us who were there will never forget his last-minute penalty save against Calahonda, which secured the Over-50s League title for us back in the 2022/23 season , what a moment that was.
That’s Rob pictured here with Chris and me.
A true club legend, a great goalkeeper, and above all, a genuinely lovely bloke.
